Manila, Philippines — SEGA is releasing Metaphor: ReFantazio to Nintendo Switch 2 at a lower price on November 12, 2026 with new key visuals and a dedicated website to the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
Metaphor: ReFantazio is re-releasing on the Nintendo Switch 2 since the first release in 2024 that claimed awards and high scores from critics.
SEGA announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 version price is lower than the original release’s price. It is priced at ¥2,990 ($24.69) from $69.99, which is 35.27% off than their standard and physical editions.
Katsura Hashino, the game director, said in his statement the game’s release is brought by the idea of change and its challenges as the world moves forward into unanticipated changes.
In Metaphor: ReFantazio, we wanted to use the fantasy genre as a conduit to explore the idea that the world can change—and that we ourselves can change as well.
Hashira also expressed his delight for the success of the title after its completion, pointing out that they were uncertain of what the impact would be until they received praises from players.
