JAM Concert returns for the flagship event of Cosplay.PH this coming weekend covering 3-days from October 02 – 04, 2026, for Cosplay Mania‘s 18th year. We are going to be graced by three different artists for this event’s line-up, from Nami Tamaki, MindaRyn, and ZAQ. For this article, we will be highlighting Thailand-based singer, ZAQ.
ZAQ is a Japanese singer, lyricist, composer and arranger signed to Lantis. Her notable singles were used as theme songs for TV Anime series such as Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! opening theme songs Sparkling Dream [Season 1], and VOICE [Season 2], Sasami-san@Ganbaranai opening theme song Alteration, High School DxD New second opening theme song Gekijouron (激情論), Yuusha ni Narenakatta Ore wa Shibushibu Shuushoku wo Ketsui Shimashita opening theme song Extra Revolution (エキストラレボリューション), Rail Wars! ending theme song OVERDRIVER, and Alma-chan wa Kazoku ni Naritai opening theme song Dramatic Overlay (ドラマチック・オーバーレイ).
We were given a chance by Cosplay.PH before the event to ask two questions before our awaited with ZAQ.
Question: Being someone who composed a lot of songs for other artists, did you write the songs with the thought of who would perform them? Did you sometimes feel that you would’ve liked to perform the songs yourself?
ZAQ: I certainly think of the person who is going to sing the piece! A lot of times I try to imagine that person’s voice and personality while writing the song so they become their most fascinating when they sing it. Also, there are times when I think that “I also want to sing that song!”. I sometimes do “self-covers” in which I sing covers in my performances and enjoy singing with my personal way of expressing the song.
Question: Is there a particular series that has yet received an anime adaptation for which you would love to compose a song?
ZAQ: The Gundam series is one of those titles that I want to try to take on.
We at SetsuAni would like to thank Cosplay.PH for letting us ask questions to ZAQ before Cosplay Mania 2026 this October 02 – 04, 2026, and letting us be one of their trusted media partners for this year’s series of events.
