Atlus’s Studio Zero takes the spotlight again, as the well loved JRPG Metaphor: ReFantazio wins the Grand Reward in Japan Game Awards 2025!

Our amazing Atlus overlords have done it once again! From the amazing studio, Studio Zero, a studio founded by Katsura Hashino, who directed and produced Persona 3 , 4 and 5; Metaphor: ReFantazio, a wonderfully curated RPG that has gotten critical acclaim and a metascore of 94, has just won the Grand Award at the Japan Game Awards 2025. It is the most distinguished title that could be given in the Games of the Year Division of the event.
In past Japan Game Awards in 2023 and 2024, Metaphor: ReFantazio won consecutive Future Division Awards, building major anticipation of its major release.
Not only that, specifically in The Game Awards 2024, Metaphor: ReFantazio was nominated for six categories, of which included Game of the Year! It won and went home with Best RPG, Best Narrative, and Best Art Direction.
Setting aside all the awards, Metaphor: ReFantazio has just celebrated it’s first anniversary, creative director Katsura Hashino and character designer Shigenori Soejima share a special video message. Plus we get these awesome memorative illustrations by Soejima himself!

With the massive success of Metaphor: ReFantazio, I and as well as many others eagerly anticipate for the next project/s Atlus’s Studio Zero have in store for us.
