“kanawanai” Also Serves as the Opening Theme for The TV Anime Hello, I am a Witch and my Crush Wants me to Make a Love Potion!

Tokyo, Japan — Centimillimental has released his new song “kanawanai” which serves as the opening theme for the TV anime Hello, I am a Witch and my Crush Wants me to Make a Love Potion! The song arrives ahead of his upcoming seventh double A-side single, “kanawanai / I miss you so much it’s killing me,” due November 17.
“kanawanai” combines a catchy melody with a colorful, dynamic pop sound, enhanced by strings that add depth, emotion, and drama to the track.
The title “kanawanai” carries two meanings in Japanese: something that cannot come true or be fulfilled, and something that cannot be matched or overcome. Centimillimental brings these two meanings together to portray the emotional conflict of a love caught between longing and uncertainty.
The lyrics capture the narrator’s wavering emotions while expressing an unflinching desire to continue loving someone despite the circumstances. The dramatic arrangement, co-arranged with Ryo Hanai, further amplifies the emotional impact of the song.
The second lead track, “I miss you so much it’s killing me,” takes a more impulsive and energetic approach to love. Driven by an exhilarating band sound, unconventional rhythms, and bold musical developments, the track captures the restless feeling of being consumed by love and the longing that continues to grow when you cannot see the person you want to be with.
Through distinctive and humorous metaphors, Centimillimental portrays the emotional chaos of falling in love and the uncontrollable feelings that come with it. Its energetic and dynamic sound perfectly reflects the intensity of the song’s title, delivering a powerful expression of passion and longing.
